​My name is Joeseph Patterson (Joe), the president of Family Safe Radon Services LLC. Over 16 years ago I started a successful construction company named Patterson Construction. In 2013 I sold a home that my family and I lived in for about 4 years. During the inspections, conducted by the buyer, a radon test was done. The results were very high levels of radon.  So, I paid to have a radon system installed. Not being informed about radon, I started to research radon and the effects of it. Once I learned how harmful radon could be.  I was very concerned for my family.  I tested my current home and found elevated radon levels of more then 11 pCi/L.  At this time I decided to install a radon mitigation system on my home. After mitigation, my home's radon level went to less then 1 pCi/L. After further research, I learned that most people have either never heard of radon or don't know the effect of exposure,.  I decided to help inform others of the dangers of radon. With my extensive experience in construction, plumbing, hvac and electrical, I choose to start this company to help keep families safe in their own homes. I began the process of taking the required courses through the University of Minnesota. After the successful completion of both the radon measurement and mitigation courses and exams, I obtained my state license thru the Ohio Dept. of Health.
